The young lion panted, blood staining the fur on his muzzle red.
Before him lay another of his age, the first murder he would perform at his father's will. A test.
Enzi straightened up, eyes shifting quickly from his crime scene to the watchful gaze of his father.
The massive lion loped down from his post, face solemn as he approached his son. As he neared, his good eye inspected the mess intently. After a moment, he nodded in approval and turned to his son.
"Good work, my boy." she said, giving a rare smirk.
